Movilfest Recognized by the Canary Islands Government

Movilfest Officially Recognized as a Collaborating Social Services Entity by the Government of the Canary Islands

Tenerife, Canary Islands – July 2026

Movilfest has reached an important milestone in its journey.

The Government of the Canary Islands has officially registered Asociación MÓVIL FIRST (Movilfest) as a Collaborating Entity in the Provision of Social Services in the Canary Islands, recognizing the organization’s commitment to creating positive social impact through culture, creativity and mobile technology.

The registration, granted by the Directorate General for Older People and Active Participation, confirms that Movilfest meets all the legal and organizational requirements established by the Canary Islands Social Services framework and officially recognizes the association as a collaborating entity operating throughout Spain.

For more than fifteen years, Movilfest has believed that a smartphone is much more than a communication device. It is a powerful tool for education, inclusion, cultural participation, creativity and social transformation.

Founded with the mission of creating a more just, fun, healthy and equal world, Movilfest has developed international initiatives that empower people through mobile filmmaking, digital creativity, artificial intelligence, education and community engagement. Today, that vision receives an important institutional endorsement.

“This recognition represents much more than an administrative milestone. It confirms that culture, technology and creativity can become powerful social tools capable of improving lives and strengthening communities,” said Sandra González Díaz, Founder and President of Movilfest.

As an officially recognized Collaborating Social Services Entity, Movilfest will continue expanding projects that place people at the center of innovation, promoting initiatives focused on:

  • Social inclusion through digital creativity.
  • Mobile filmmaking and accessible audiovisual education.
  • Ethical Artificial Intelligence for social good.
  • Youth empowerment and digital entrepreneurship.
  • Intergenerational participation.
  • Community development through culture and technology.
  • International cooperation projects connecting Europe and Africa.

This recognition also strengthens Movilfest’s capacity to collaborate with public institutions, municipalities, universities, NGOs and international partners in developing innovative social projects aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The official registration forms part of the Regional Register of Collaborating Social Services Entities of the Canary Islands, which includes non-profit organizations working alongside the regional government to achieve social welfare objectives.

As Movilfest looks toward the future, this new chapter reinforces the organization’s belief that creativity is not only an artistic expression—it is also a powerful catalyst for inclusion, opportunity and lasting social change.
